Because of COVID-19, our services and meetings are held online while our building is closed. Changes were made in the interest of safety.

Welcome to the First Unitarian Church of Memphis - The Church of the River

Who are we? As part of the liberal Unitarian Universalist denomination, we’re a diverse, progressive and caring congregation. We care about social justice, the environment and each other. We welcome you no matter where you come from, what color your skin is or who you love. If you’re looking for a community of like-minded people to help you grow your soul, raise compassionate children, and live a fuller life, we invite you to join us.

Special Announcement

The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held Sunday, May 16 immediately after the worship service. The primary purpose of the Annual Congregational Meeting is to hear budget and financial reports and to address any issues that require a congregational vote, including annual elections. This meeting will be held via Zoom. Watch your email for details.

Sunday Schedule

Scheduled activities at the church are currently cancelled or have moved online. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution, following the leads of several other religious institutions, and the advice of the UUA.
